how this works
Every mark on the stele stands for something — a good, a house, a king's name, a blessing. Tap a mark to guess its meaning from the choices offered.
A previous scholar already annotated some marks in chalk — those are given. The rest, you narrow down: if a mark's meaning is claimed elsewhere, it can't also be this one. Whatever's left has to be the answer.
Numbers are simplest of all: they're tallies, one stroke-mark or ten stroke-mark repeated. Count them. If a king appears to have ruled for four hundred years, you've read the marks backwards — swap your guess.
Nothing is confirmed until your whole web of guesses is consistent, top to bottom. Get there, and the stele reads itself aloud, in full.
